Inspired by the births of our first two grandchildren, two boys born five months apart, I wrote A TIME TO BE BORN: Meditations on the Birth of a Child (john-b-phillips.com). I know that some of you have bought this book, and I greatly appreciate it.
Yesterday, Sunday, August 21, our third grandchild was born–this time a granddaughter, Margaret Wellington Thomas. Everyone seems to be doing fine. With grateful hearts, we celebrate the arrival of Baby Wells.
Our daughter Ellis wrote the sequel to the book on Facebook: “On the very morning we thought our love would be split between kiddos, it instantly doubled. Margaret Wellington “Wells” Thomas, born at 6:10 am, 8 pounds 2 ounces. And our hearts have exploded all over again.”
While I don’t plan on writing another book about the spiritual journey of childbirth, I will do something special for our new granddaughter.
