Holy Scripture speaks often about the kingdom. The Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of Heaven.
And we search the scriptures for what it means. The church. A spiritual house of God. Heaven. The heavens and the earth. And more.
In what appears to be a reference to the kingdom, Jesus says that it’s his Father’s house having many rooms where Jesus is going to prepare a place for those who follow him. (John 14:2, NIV)
But when Jesus was asked about the kingdom by the Pharisees, he gave an answer that is humbling and uplifting: “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21, NKJV)
We need to let that sink in–and then give thanks.
