Thanksgiving Scriptures — We Have Received Grace Upon Grace

Thanksgiving is almost upon us. As we make ready for Thanksgiving Day, we continue our preparations by reading a variety of Thanksgiving scripture.

“Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness…Let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them! Let the trees of the forest sing, let them sing of joy before the Lord…Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (I Chronicles 16:28-29, 32-34, NIV)

“In that day you will say: Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy…” (Isaiah 12:4-6)

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18)

“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name…” (Psalm 9:1-2)

“Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.” (Psalm 50:23)

“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.” (Psalm 107:21-22)

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others…” (Hebrews 13:16)

“For from his fulness we have all received grace upon grace.” (John 1:16, ESV)
